The show started out as a docu-series with goals of teaching young viewers the dangers of having unprotected sex, and how difficult raising children can be when you’re not prepared. Ironically, even well into their twenties, many of the cast members are still having unplanned pregnancies!
In fact, whether within or outside of a committed relationship or marriage, Maci, Briana, Kailyn, Jenelle, and Amber have all had unplanned pregnancies within the past few years… Guess they didn’t really learn their lessons!
It’s no surprise that an unexpected pregnancy can still be such a shock for Teen Mom viewers. Even though they’re well past the point of struggling to make ends meet for their children, unplanned pregnancy can still be a major plot twist in their lives, especially when they don’t know the baby daddy very well. Briana DeJesus has seen exaclty how that can play out.
